Tennyson, In Memoriam (Prologue), read by Benjamin Hagen

Link to “Prologue” Text

I’ve had Tennyson on the mind for several years now, and this interest (attachment?) has intensified since my dad died this past summer (the morning of 19 June 2021). As I am trying to make progress on my next book (on love), Dad’s death and Tennyson’s long elegy keep coming ’round.

Here’s a link to the full text of In Memoriam – prologue, epilogue, and all 131 sections.

How did I not know of this? What a marvelous discovery! “Let Love clasp Grief lest both be drown’d”
